How to set up MFA on your Microsoft 365 account

Please ask Broad Access Services to enable MFA on your account then follow these details below:-

Login via a Web Browser to your Office 365 account as normal 365 Login, and a screen will be displayed telling you that “your organisation needs more information to keep your account secure.”


Click “Next” to be taken to the “Additional security verification” panel, where you can choose your MFA method, pick the method that works best for you in the first dropdown.


 

In this example, the “Authentication Phone” option is used to use MFA with mobile SMS,  enter your mobile number to be associated with this account.


After clicking on “Contact me” button, You'll receive an SMS on your mobile with the verification code. This code needs to be entered in the screen, as shown below.


Click on verify, and the following screen will appear. On this screen, it shows an “app password” That you can copy for use with none compliant MFA apps (see below)


After clicking on “Done” button, You'll be redirected to Office 365 portal and MFA is complete

some examples of Apps that require an App password are:-

1.    Outlook desktop app for your PC or Mac

2.    Email apps (except the Outlook app) on an iOS, Android or BlackBerry device

3.    Office 2010, Office for Mac 2011 or earlier

4.    Windows Essentials (Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Mail)

5.    Zune desktop app

6.    Xbox 360

7.    Windows Phone 8 or earlier
